Real Madrid is a Spanish professional sports club located in Madrid that was founded in early 1902 as a football-only club. In 1920, King Alfonso XIII of Spain granted the royal title to the club, leading to changing the club’s name and adding a royal crown on the club’s logo. The club widely known for its football team, which currently plays in La Liga, the top-tier league in Spain, and is also one of the three founding members of the league that never suffered relegation, with the other teams being Athletic Bilbao and local rivals Barcelona. The club is regarded as one of the most successful and supported clubs in Spain and the world.
