The company’s origins date back to 1924, when Adolf Dassler and his brother Rudolf Dassler co-founded a footwear company named “Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik” (Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory). The brothers worked together until 1948, when they decided to part ways and establish separate companies. In 1949, Rudolf launched his own brand under the name Ruda, later renaming it Puma a few months after. Adolf, in turn, founded his own brand, which he named Adidas.
