Umbroعن Umbro
• Umbro is an English sportswear manufacturer headquartered in Cheadle, Greater Manchester, England, officially founded on 23 May 1924. The company was initially established in 1920 by Harold Humphreys and his brother Wallace Humphreys under the name “Humphreys Brothers Clothing”, before being renamed to its current name, Umbro, four years later.
• The company is renowned worldwide for its football kits production. As one of the earliest sportswear manufacturers in England, Umbro developed a strong association with the English Football Association in the early 1930s and has been producing kits for numerous football clubs in England since that time. Following its significant success, Nike, the American sportswear giant, announced in 2007 that it had acquired Umbro, making it a subsidiary.
• Today, many football clubs around the world are sponsored by Umbro, including Bournemouth, Brentford, and West Ham United. The company has also previously provided kits for major clubs and national teams, such as Al Ahly, Espérance de Tunis, Schalke 04, Brazil and England.
