Zamalek is an Egyptian professional sports club located in Giza mainly known for its football team. The club was founded in 1911, and currently plays in the Egyptian Premier League, the top-tier league in the country. The club is also one of the two founding members of the league that never suffered relegation, with the other team being Al Ahly; the long-time rivals of the club. Zamalek is one of the most successful clubs in Africa; winning more African titles than any other clubs in the 20th century, alongside being the second most successful side in the domestic scene.
