Manchester City is an English professional football club located in Manchester, England. The club was founded in 1880 under the name of St. Mark's (West Gorton) by members of the St. Mark’s church for social and humanitarian purposes mainly, before changing the name to Ardwick AFC in 1887 and later to its current name, Manchester City, on 16 April 1894. The club currently plays in the Premier League, the top-tier league in England. Manchester City is one of the most successful English clubs in modern era, winning more than 15 major domestic trophy since 2011, and also the only English club to attain 100 points during a single Premier League season.
